Research Fellow Opportunities
The Institute for Composer Diversity is seeking research fellows with a passion for equity and diversity in music programming. Research Fellows are those looking to grow their personal knowledge of music by composers from underrepresented groups and to make a difference in the accessibility of that knowledge to others. Graduate students or professionals studying or practicing music performance or education or those with an interest in working with data are encouraged to apply. Fellows are sought for work on ICD’s genre databases in the areas of art song, chamber, choral, orchestral, and wind band, as well as with ICD’s Composer Database.
To apply: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please submit a resume or CV and introductory email to Rob Deemer at rob@composerdiversity.com. Selected candidates will be asked to participate in a Zoom meeting with ICD staff. People from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
Internship Opportunities
Graduate and undergraduate students with experience or training in music are welcome to apply for an internship or work-study opportunity with ICD. Options exist for work-study partnerships or credit-bearing internships with the student's college where programs exist, or individual internships directly with ICD. Hours are flexible and remote and can be scheduled during the semester or over breaks. Current open internships are listed below. For internships in all other genres, please contact Rob Deemer at rob@composerdiversity.com for more details.
Volunteer Opportunities
Those interested in working with ICD in a volunteer capacity are welcome to reach out through email. Please send an inquiry that includes your area of interest to Rob Deemer at rob@composerdiversity.com for more details.
