Composer Profile Submission Form
The Composer Profile Submission Form
Thank you for submitting information for the Composer Database! Please read this important information before entering data about a composer.
A person cannot be fully described by a series of descriptors, labels, check-boxes, or data points. Providing composer data via this form allows us to create a library-type resource, which is a first step in getting to know a composer and their works. We all have a responsibility to be careful and respectful about the personal data we share and use about the composers whose music we seek to highlight. The ICD recognizes, and urges all users to recognize, that every person represented by a series of labels in this database is a creator with an honorable story and unique body of work.
For secondary parties entering information:
Information about living composers should be entered by the composers themselves.
Secondary parties may submit information about historical composers.
Note for straight male composers: we will only be adding men composers who are not white or who identify with any component of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. It is understood that the act of denying inclusion to anyone in some way flies in the face of the broad concept of inclusivity, but this decision was made to ensure that this endeavor remains focused on diversity in programming.
